Spotlight on 14 Parkis Avenue: Providence
Among the many developments underway across the state that have received funds from the Building Homes Rhode Island (BHRI) program, the development at 14 Parkis Avenue in Providence is now complete. The developer, Community Works Rhode Island, will celebrate this milestone on February 25 from 5:00-8:00pm. In March 2010, 7 one-bedroom and 3 studio income-restricted apartments will be ready to rent at 14 Parkis. Community Works Rhode Island currently has 22 rentals under renovation in three historic houses on Parkis Avenue, representing $780,000 in BHRI funds invested. In addition to BHRI, financing and funding for Parkis Historic Properties was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Rhode Island Housing, City of Providence, the Chestnut Fund, Citizens Bank, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) of Rhode Island and NeighborWorks America.
